April Fool's Day

It seems to be the 1st April today - not that the weather seems to have got the memo!
Snow flurries and bitter winds in Essex today.
The first quarter of the year has passed in a bit of a blur for me, and I now realise I need to up my game if I'm going to achieve everything I want to achieve by the end of the year.
Planning (or more to the point, sticking to it) has never been my strong point. More now than ever, though, I really need to get to grips with it.
Today I have spent time working out how I want my next quarter to look - personally and professionally. Then I have broken it down into months, deciding what I can realistically achieve each month to get where I need to be. Then worked out what I can do each day. I've even carved out time to spend planning!
I find it much easier to create smaller, achievable goals to focus on rather than the bigger picture - which can be a bit daunting.
When you lead a busy life it's so easy to compile a 'to do' list and jump from one thing to another, or fit things in when you can. But I find I get more done if I actually schedule a task and concentrate on it for an allotted time before moving on to the next. I've also started putting my phone on 'do not disturb' or turning notifications off so I'm not constantly interrupted by FB updates and messages.
Any other tips and tricks you may have would be greatly appreciated!
